Merry Christmas! We hope you have had / are having a beautifully blessed Christmas. But we also know it’s just not that simple for so many (including ourselves). Christmas can bring lots of ups but also plenty of downs and everything inbetween, can’t it? Including them pesky triggers. So here we are, sitting with you, figuring out some grounding for ourselves and sharing it with you in case you’d like to try it yourself or join in with us. Come play along, we’d love to see what you came up with if you feel like sharing.
pause. breathe. check in. finding our centre again

Using our camera to distract and hyper focus and centre. We set ourself the challenge of creating a bit of an “artistic” shot that was predominantly red and green and that said Christmas without Christmas being the focus. Here’s what we came up with. We like to think it says “potential” too …
What do you think? We used the dramatic filter on our camera because let’s face it, Christmas is all things dramatic 🤣. What can you create? We’d love to see it.

Then we set about looking for green and set ourself the challenge of creating some kind of abstract art piece. This is our front door (yep, it’s green) reflected in the sun and shot from various angles. What is green in your home? Can you artify it? (Did we just make up a word?)
next, (yeah, Christmas can need a next and a next for grounding, sigh), we decided to take two shots that, together, spelled out MERRY + CHRISTMAS. Here’s what we came up with. What would yours look like?
Last, but not least because we had a ball doing this, we found a cherry in the fruit bowl and set about trying different angles and just having fun. We even added a strawberry. The we set about creating fun mini galleries or displays or whatever you want to call them. What fruit is lying in your house calling out for a play? How would you display it?

Merry merry MERRY Christmas 🎄
So here we are sharing our daily practice of PAUSE. BREATHE. CHECK IN. Clearing the clutter and finding me, myself and I in the present moment. And we invite you to follow along and let's keep each other on track? Or try to at least, some days are still pretty bumpy. Sigh
Create your own or feel free to riff off ours. Sometimes it's just hard to know where to start, isn't it? Follow along and let our ideas inspire yours: you can copy and embellish or go off on a whole other tangent that delights and frights you (and we are always keen to hear new ideas)
If you're feeling brave, post your versions in our comment feed so others can be inspired too. (No need for fancy or pro lit photos - ours are always on our living room floor in front of the window and the lighting is chance!) Or upload to your own social media (be sure to use our hashtags #veryhumanregulation #veryhumanmoments so we can find each other). Either way, make sure to comment on posts by others and encourage one another as we all drop our anchors and find what's in the stillness (or the fire)
The only rules are: please be supportive and encouraging!
Welcome!
How We Go About It
We go outside (fresh air) and pay attention to nature and details in the world around us (focusing tool). We hone in on one view and start snapping shots with our phone - having fun with filters, angles, perspectives, whatever delights (calming our nervous system and bringing ourselves back on line through hyper focusing)
